About Organizers
We are two PhD students from the Graduate School of Media Design, Keio University, Japan, the main contacts and organizers for the workshop. Following is our short bio and background information.
Yan Yan CAO: Her background is in Interaction Design and Computer Science. Prior to academic research, Yan Yan has worked as interaction designer in diverse media, i.e. 3D animation, advertising, web application. She has started her research in technology mediated home environment. Currently, she is PhD and researcher at Keio University, focusing her research on intangible interactions with ambience, emotionally intriguing, provides interactions that are soft, non-logical, ephemeral, rich and poetic in real life context and tab into human relationships in smell interactions.

Mei Kei LAI: She is an interactive olfactory researcher and artist. Her research interest is to explore various kinds of interaction by using scent as the medium to elicit playful experience, and challenge the boundaries of olfactory interface through the combination of art, gameplay, and technology. Since 2005, her smell projects have been shown on various international conferences and exhibitions, such as HCI Conference 2006 in London and ISEA 2008 in Singapore. She has also held interactive olfactory workshops in Singapore and Hong Kong.
